Recognizing the immense significance of green plant cover in human welfare, environmental conservation and national development dedicated citizens have launched GREEN ECO MOVEMENT SOCIETY (GEMS) with the under mentioned objectives.
Objectives
- To inculcate among citizens, especially children and youth, love for Plants and Nature.
- To promote measures to enhance green cover in and around human habitations.
- To initiate / facilitate interactions among various groups / agencies which are interested / involved in use of plants.
- To secure and manage various assistance from support agencies for implementing green cover programmes.
- Carrying out research, development, cultural and welfare programmes with the help of national and international agencies.

Vision
The vision of the GREEN ECO MOVEMENT SOCIETY aimed to creating awareness of the Environment, while highlighting the importance and role of every young citizen in promoting sustainability. The plantation initiative saw a large participation from citizens especially children and youth. The plantation initiative helped raise awareness about the importance of a clean environment and green environment with participation of every citizens of the society.
Scope
The Headquarters of GREEN ECO MOVEMENT SOCIETY is established at Varanasi. To begin with, the society shall address the environmental issues related to the heritage city Varanasi. The Green Eco Movement Society would be expanded by establishing and inter connecting Chapters in other parts of India.
